Description
Vehicle Details1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta Sport Sedan (very low milage), automatic transmission for restoration. Very low milage original engine. Has 4 rare and desirable alloy wheels in great shape (Melber Majors). Car needs work. No structural rust at all but pass. front door sill has been neatly removed due to rust there. Some small rust-thru in rockers and at windshield corners. Nothing bad. Those rust areas have been wire brushed and painted to stop oxidation, but these relatively small areas need permanent repairs. Engine bay very solid. No rust at all there due to heavy undercoating applications years ago. Car is very solid underneath. Has the DeDion rear end with inboard brakes and tranny all in one structure. THIS ALFA IS AN AUTO TRANSMISSION MODEL. It has different linkage than manual tranny cars. Some mods are necessary to switch to manual or to use this engine in a manual car. The front seats are rough, the back bench seat is pretty good. Headliner is good. The car has ALL trim and glass in good shape. Some trim pieces need cleaning. The engine is VERY GOOD. It turned by hand easily. It has been stored with oil in cylinders. It has very low ORIGINAL MILES. It has had an air conditioning system CAREFULLY removed which comes with the car. Very nice Italian alloy wheels. Dash and console almost perfect. Trunk interior and spare tire boot very clean. No rust, with all original carpets and liners there. Suspension appears to be raised slightly. There are 4 extra shocks with the car. Several boxes of parts. There is an after market front air dam which was never attached and is in perfect shape. Window mechanisms all work with no issues (except for pass. front). The shift linkage is not connected. It is a simple steel cable design and appears to be an easy reconnect, but I'm not too familiar with this type of linkage so... The car is most likely NOT a parts car but needs a pretty comprehensive restoration to bring it back to perfect health. There may be some issues with dash wiring as some oxidation has occurred there. The car turned over very nicely before components were removed from engine bay (including starter and cooling structures). Since then just oil in cylinders and hand turning every month or so. Turns easily. Bushings all look good. Exhaust very good. Brake system and suspension all appear to be very good. Bumpers excellent, lights and plastic trim, excellent. Comes with original owners manual and supplement in nice condition. Also 2 original keys for ignition and one assessor key. Please assume that the car is a bit rougher than the pictures appear to show. Some superficial surface rust on wheel arches and a few other areas. (car has chrome trim on all 4 wheel arches not shown). Remember, this is an original 50,000 mile Alfa. You just don't see them very often. It hasn't seen much time on the road. I have a couple of other restoration and fabrication projects so it is only right to get this car into the hands of someone with the time and interest. Please contact me for ANY questions....thanks
