“Vanderpump Rules” stars to close Schwartz & Sandy’s after 2 years in business

Two stars of “Vanderpump Rules” announced plans Monday to close their bar Schwartz & Sandy’s, two years after opening just ahead of a cheating scandal that made an indelible mark on reality television.
Opened by cast members Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz in 2022, the bar was featured on the hit Bravo TV show, which has aired for 11 seasons starting in 2013. A filming hiatus earlier this year in the wake of the pop culture moment known as “Scandoval” — which revealed that Sandoval had cheated on his longtime girlfriend and fellow “Vanderpump” star, Ariana Madix, with their friend and castmate Rachel Leviss — preceded an announcement Tuesday that the entire cast of the show would be replaced.
The duo known as “the Toms” shared separate messages on Instagram Monday to announce the decision to close the bar.
“With a heavy heart, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Schwartz & Sandy’s at the end of December,” Sandoval’s post said. “This hasn’t been an easy choice for my partners and me, but other priorities and commitments have taken hold.”
“There’s no easy way to say this but after careful consideration, Greg, Tom and I made the decision to close Schwartz and Sandy’s by the end of the year,” Schwartz said. “This was not an easy conclusion.”
Schwartz & Sandy’s is the second bar venture for the pair, who are also part-owners in West Hollywood’s TomTom, the restaurant they helped open in 2018 with “Vanderpump Rules” and former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd.
